Post by Admin on 4/27/2010, 11:48 pm

The new 2011 Sonata turbo will have 274HP and 269lb-ft of torque. It also gets 34MPG on regular unleaded. The pricing hasnt been announced yet but it should be close to last year's V6 model. All cars come with a paddle shifted 6 speed auto. The car will be built in Montgomery, Alabama. It will be the first of many turbo Hyundai and Kia products. Very Happy

HOW ABOUT TOP SPEED? CAR AND DRIVER SAYS 153MPH. HYUNDAI TECHS SAY IF YOU PUT IN 93 OCTANE GAS YOU GET ANOTHER 10MPH. SO ARE WE TALKING ABOUT 160MPH? CAN ANYONE BELIEVE THAT FROM A CAR COSTING UNDER $30,000?

iF YOU SEE A FULL TEST OF THE TURBO WITH A TOP SPEED PLEASE TELL THE REST OF US. IF TRUE THIS GIVES US TREMENDOUS BRAGGING RIGHTS (LOL!)

Motor Trend's Car of the Year article says 155 mph, limited because of the tire rating. Not bad for a family sedan, under $30,000. One of them didn't like the engine, though, so we didn't win the big prize. Chevie Volt.

What is not to like about the engine. The Volt is a pile.
