All New 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T

Post by Admin on 4/27/2010, 11:48 pm

The new 2011 Sonata turbo will have 274HP and 269lb-ft of torque.  It also gets 34MPG on regular unleaded.  The pricing hasnt been announced yet but it should be close to last year's V6 model.  All cars come with a paddle shifted 6 speed auto.  The car will be built in Montgomery, Alabama.  It will be the first of many turbo Hyundai and Kia products. Very Happy

    "Less than $25K nicely equipped."

Post by Admin on 5/1/2010, 4:38 pm

According to Autoblog, CEO Krafcik recently stated that the Turbo model would start at less than $25K! Compare this to new turbo Buick Regal that starts at $30K with less power and sub-par fuel economy...... Oh snap! Someone just got served.....

The 2.0 Theta block is going to be a big power maker and also allot of attention to the aftermarket parts makers.

Dealers are all over the map on pricing. Some are willing to lower the price under 24K with frieght ($720) included.

I called dealers in the surrounding five states. One told me they had all 3 that were allocated to them sold for $700 over the sticker price.
Got a base SE 2.0T with the mats, cargo net and dealer installed heated seats for $23,700 freight included. Less tax and license of course. There was another Dealer selling one for $$23,000 but it wasn't the color we wanted. It does pay to shop around. I was told every Dealer is getting at least one initially and was surprised almost all were not pre-sold. I guess the economy is still a factor.

WOW brother jump on that deal. I dont know how a dealer can sell the car that cheap when its 24,145 for the base turbo.. that means they are taking a loss.. I have the first turbo in south texas. my dealer is the only dealer to get the first turbo in south texas, and now they have to remodle the dealership so they can sell the Equus

HOW ABOUT TOP SPEED? CAR AND DRIVER SAYS 153MPH. HYUNDAI TECHS SAY IF YOU PUT IN 93 OCTANE GAS YOU GET ANOTHER 10MPH. SO ARE WE TALKING ABOUT 160MPH? CAN ANYONE BELIEVE THAT FROM A CAR COSTING UNDER $30,000?

iF YOU SEE A FULL TEST OF THE TURBO WITH A TOP SPEED PLEASE TELL THE REST OF US. IF TRUE THIS GIVES US TREMENDOUS BRAGGING RIGHTS (LOL!)
